Our Team
We choose our team as much for their qualifications as well as their ability to give our customers the very best surfing experience. While they are both fully qualified British Surfing Association Surf Coaches they are also qualified and experienced Beach Lifeguards and also trained in advanced First Aid, Advanced Resuscitation, Child Protection and are Criminal Records Bureau checked - so you and your family couldn't be in safer hands.
Safety while you Surf is Paramount
Each and every instructor wears a yellow identification vest, waterproof two-way radio and emergency whistle. Each group has a first aid kit, mobile phone and one rescue surfboard per instructor. In each lesson you will wear one of our wetsuits or your own, with one of our red lycra vests over it. This equipment is there just in case and the most important thing each instructor takes to the beach is the ability to spot risks well before they can become a danger.

Guy Richards
Llangennith Surf School coach Guy Richards is a Level One British Surfing Assosiation Surfing Coach and fully qualified beach lifeguard. Guy has 20 years personal experience and 8 years coaching experience, his favourite surf destinations include Indonesia and Portugal and he has visited various other locations across the Globe. When asked the best thing about surf coaching, he says "Watching people quickly develop their surfing skills, succeeding their goals and enjoying surfing as much as I do during a lesson with us, is absolutely fantastic"
Luke Griffin
Llangennith Surf School's head coach Luke Griffin is a Level Two British Surfing Assosiation Surf Coach and NARS Beach Lifeguard, he has 11 years personal surfing experience and three years coaching experience. Luke has surfed in Costa Rica, Indonesia, Austrailia, California, Mexico, Nicaragua and Figi and is a former beach lifeguard at local beaches on the South Wales coast. When asked the best thing about surf coaching, Luke's reply was.. "The best thing about coaching is meeting so many great people and introducing them to a lifestyle which has given me so many awesome experiences, seeing people getting to their feet for the first time and sharing the experience with them is amazing"
